Burkina Faso
We are blessed to be a part of what the Lord is doing on the other side of the world.
In 2000, a relationship was formed between Athey Creek Christian Fellowship and Pastor Daniel Delma of Burkina Faso. Pastor Daniel shepherds a church of his own on the outskirts of the capital city of Ouagadougou. He also spends much of his time supporting, encouraging and instructing the many pastors and pastors-in-training in that country. Pastor Brett visited Burkina Faso years ago and was excited when the opportunity arose to bring a small team with him to the West African country as he shared the Word at Pastor’s Conferences. Since then, it has been a tremendous blessing for us as a church body to come alongside Pastor Daniel and the precious people of Burkina Faso as the Lord continues to move mightily in that area of the world.
In addition to helping with their church building and assisting with provisions in times of severe drought, we also had the privilege of helping with a Kid’s Camp. In 2002, we partnered with the brothers and sisters at Pastor Daniel’s church to minister to 250 kids at this five day camp complete with songs, games, Bible stories and tons of goofy fun. Many kids were encouraged in their faith and others came to Jesus for the first time.
Whatever good we have done there among the Burkina believers has been far outweighed by the way we have been blessed by them! Daniel and his lovely wife Elizabeth were able to visit Athey a few years back. We spent an evening listening as they shared what the Lord is doing in the lives of people in Burkina Faso. Their testimonies stirred within us a sense of joy to be connected in any way to what the Lord is doing through the fellowships there. Their lives are filled with challenges that most of us can never imagine, yet their faith is strong and their joy is real. Please join us as we pray for these brothers and sisters, and for direction as to how we can continue to come alongside them as a church body.
